To say building websites is a hobby of mine would be an over-statement. I work on them from time to time, mostly just editing my personal website every time I have a crisis in my personal life! What follows are my thoughts on using Elementor website builder plugin.

The World Of Elementor Website/Page Builder Plugin

This past two weeks I’ve had the pleasure of some really great tutelage and a quick jump into the world of Elementor for WordPress websites. Wow! What a power-horse of a website builder. Every time I thought of something new to add, or some tricky little piece, there was a widget for that or a place where I could enter some specific html, or even a short-code. At no point did I consider using any other website builder — Elementor has it all!

They describe themselves as “the leading website builder platform for professionals on WordPress.” and boy are they humble. Words like “leading” don’t give the joyous experience I had learning some of the ins and outs of this builder it’s due justice. I want to use words like incredible and mind-blowing. But it’s probably more important for you to know worlds like comprehensive and user-friendly. The drag-and-drop ability for all my selections, combined with visual editing options made my experience a breeze.

What I found clunky about this initial experience was more my own lack of knowledge. However, as soon as I popped over to search the Elementor site, I found helpful documentation on every question I had. All my visions for how my website ought to look were possible with this website builder. I did not have to compromise on my creativity in order to make the template meet my needs, I simply built the template from scratch and had it look how I wanted.

But let me talk about templates for a moment here — because I did use a few of them! The template library is bursting with creative options. If I hadn’t started with a vision for my site, scrolling through all the options would have given me wonderful ideas and opened my mind to all the possibilities.

There must have been something I didn’t like about the experience, you say. I think it was initially overwhelming and I was resistant to watching videos to teach me, at first. But as I got into the flow of it, I found another word for this great website builder — intuitive. Once I got the hang of the way Elementor works, I simply had to search and there was my next widget. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel here. Someone else before you has thought through what you’ll need on your website and they made a widget for it. And if you do find yourself creating some very specific piece to your site, that you’ll want to use over and over again, Elementor makes it easy to turn that piece into a global widget for your own later use.

When I was finally finished with my site, all the nooks and crannies filled with my content and ideas, I sat back and really looked at what I’d created. This time I could use a word from Elementor’s self description. Professional. My website doesn’t look like something off the rack (which is fine, we all wear stuff off the rack!) it looks like something I crafted with care and it looks like a professional website for a serious person who wants to sell her brand. That’s what I set out to do and that’s what Elementor allowed me to do with relative ease.

To say I’m a fan, THAT would be an understatement. Elementor for life, maybe even bumper-sticker worthy, if I were the sort of person to have a car! I’ve been around the internet since 1989 and built websites before GUI builders even existed. In more recent times, during previous builds of my site, I was left pulling my hair out trying to get everything to line up just right. Elementor takes the pressure off. If there is a style or attribute option that wasn’t available, I certainly didn’t find it.

If you’re looking for your next website fix, I couldn’t recommend Elementor any higher. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or leave a comment below — I’d love to hear about your first experience with this great website builder!
